Finding my Quilt Voice! Come along with me and I’ll tell you about how I discovered pattern design. I’ll share my designs and reflect on how my quilting evolved one quilt at a time, and how my voice played a part in my earliest designs. As a creative, I am constantly seeking ways to express myself. Quilting allows me one avenue to that freedom of expression. I design my quilts for me and the people I love. I am blessed that there are other quilters out there that are inspired by my designs and seek to find their freedom through quilting like I did.

TEXT IT! Quilts and Pillows with something to say! In this workshop we will cover different applique techniques to give your quilts a voice. This workshop is inspired by projects included in my book Text It! and my Dear Daughter, Dear Son, and Dear Diary patterns. If you have something to say, this class will help you find your quilt voice.

Madawaska Mittens… yes they are for quilters too!

Baby, it’s cold outside! I love quilting and sewing, but I also love making cozy mittens from wool sweaters, and I’ve made hundreds! (no lie!) In this fun (and my most popular!) workshop I will walk you through making your first pair of mittens lined with fleece. You won’t believe how warm they are! I’m going to share all my tips and tricks on what sweaters to use, how to dissect your sweater and  how to make them larger for your man. Plus… I’ll share some of the fun projects I’ve made with the scraps :) So dig out the old sweaters and let’s make some wool fly!

Pearl Cotton – Hand Quilting and Embroidery. I will admit, I’m a pearl cotton junkie. Something about that shiny thick thread, those gorgeous colors… it’s just yummy! So I make it a point to add it to my projects if it’s at all possible! In this workshop I’m going to share with you all the ways I incorporate pearl cotton in my work. We will cover hand quilting, including supplies, tools and my best tips and tricks. Then we will go a little deeper and discuss some of my go-to outline & embroidery stitches. Want to add some whimsy and put your stitch signature on your quilts? This workshop is for you!

This project-based workshop is super fun… you won’t believe how quickly this cute gnome comes together. His body and hat are made from fat quarters (18″ x 21″)  and you know you have some of those in your stash! Then add a nose, eyes (optional), beard, feet and see him come to life! This handsome cutie stands 20″ tall and 6″ wide… I’ll walk you through every step of the way and you’ll have a finished gnome in no time! Kits available upon request. Pattern fee: $10/student.
