Love and Peace for Ukraine QAL - WEEK 1
Apr 29, 2022Hello Quilters!
Yay!! It's week 1 of our Love and Peace QAL! It's a quick one... just getting the cutting done for our background!
Thanks to everyone who has already made a donation to UNICEF for the QAL. If you haven't done so... you can use this link to make any donation you can!
I have been super busy working to finish up my first sample quilt! I have the binding still left to do, but here is a look at it coming off the frame.
I almost always do free motion quilting because that is what I'm most comfortable with... swirls, leaves, flowers... I just doodle lol
I'm so excited to get the binding on and get it shipped to a refugee!! I'll keep you posted on that.
I have some new fabrics for the QAL!!! Alison Glass generously donated the fabrics for my second quilt!! She is one of my all time favorite designers and I used her fabrics on my original Love and Peace quilt which you can see in the introduction post here. Here are the fabrics I'm using during the QAL. Fabric links are below if you are in love :) ...and you can also use this button to share if you're on Instagram or Facebook.
Here is a recap of the QAL PLAN:

Ok! that wraps up this week! Just cutting, no sewing... yet!
I have to share some of the photos of Xena so you can see why she was banished while I was cutting. She is so ridiculous! She makes me laugh so much... look at this first picture... hahaha ... and that pink nose... I cant even!
Clearly she loves the camera!
See you next Friday!
hugs,
Sherri
